F.SIZE.FREE: I really love live shows!
1)Tell us the story of your band: how did you get interested in music, what or who influenced you in your decision to become a musician and how did you start F.Size.free?
*I listened to music at the age of a junior high student for the first time and was absorbed.
I was thin so far, and the appearance was not masculine, too, but my appearance was good for a musician! hehehe!
I was absorbed in the exercise of the guitar then played with a friend after having purchased a guitar at the age of a high school student for the first time.
It may have been a very natural choice to become a musician.
Originally F.size.free was a solo project of Eiji, but I met Naoki and we became the band formally.
2)You describe your style as new wave/glam/indie. It seems like an interesting mixture. How can you describe your sound in general then?
*I listen to the music of any kind of genre basically.
The particularly favorite music has much Glam Rock, New Wave.
The music of F.size.free adapts the music of 80's for the present time, and sounds to finish it in a pop characteristic.
3)Japanese culture and music are very popular all over the world. What are particular traits of Japanese music that make it different and non-ordinary?
*I think that it is because surely Japanese traditional culture is different from any country of the world.
I still think that I compare Japanese music with U.S.A. and British music that develops a lot.
But a melody peculiar to the experimental part and Japanese music is fresh in another country and people may feel it.
I think that the Japanese fashions are the same things.
4)How does the process of the song-writing go for you? How does a new song appear and where do you get inspiration for your songs?
*The idea of the new song appears suddenly.
But I listen to good music and tend to get inspiration when it is with a wonderful person.
It was the person who was very interesting and worked as an actor before in Japan and so I talked to him. And I got inspiration from the encounter, and a text has been done.
5)Tell us more about your live performances. What are they like? How could you describe your emotions during live concerts?
*I really love live shows!
I get the feeling that I’m really free when I perform live.
It is pleasant and it impresses and gives an actual feeling of being really alive.
And I’m really happy that I can share this fabulous time with the people who came for a live show.
6)What’s your favourite music style? What bands/musicians do you like most all?
*Anyway, there are a lot of favorite musicians because I listen to the music of various genres.
But ones of a kind are DAVID BOWIE and JIMI HENDRIX.
They have influenced me a lot.
7)What traits of character are, in your opinion, important for a musician?
*I think that a character and the image are very important for a musician.
It is not that an appearance is beautiful by any means.
A character and a good artist is sure that he’s the first, the best and splendid.
8)If you had an opportunity to be a musician in any epoch you like, what time would it be?
*I listen to any kind of music from the Beatles to modern music widely.
And I like blues and jazz, too.
There is splendid music in all times.
All the splendid music wants to listen to the music of the times when the music of the old times is new.
9)What are you working at now and what are you plans for the future?
*Anyway, the future plan is to go to the country except Japan to give a concert.
I could to go to Russia even tomorrow and want to make a concert there possible!
Is there the event that F.size.free can participate in Russia?
F.size.free prays for an acceptable thing in Russia!
