Burning The Night Sky: Hopefully we can inspire you to realize you have that power

Powerful vocals... Energetic rock... Stormy energy... They can be different: growling and mind-blowing riffs in one song are substituted with melodic vocals and calm melodies in another... It's all about Burning The Night Sky. They know how to achieve their goal and know how to inspire people to do the same. And that's what they do with their music.

1.)  Hello, guys! First, could you please introduce yourself?

Burning The Night Sky is:
Steven Schultz - Vocals
J Shea - Guitar
Leanne Sabolish - Bass
Derek Adams - Drums

2.) Tell us how you met and how the band started.

Burning The Night Sky was formed November 1st, 2006. Founding member Steven Schultz and former band mates met in high school. Although the band has gone through many line up changes, the current line up consists of the members the band knew was needed from the start.

3.) The name of the band sounds very impressive. How was it created?
From Steven "Burning The Night Sky was a compilation of words that symbolized what the band meant, in a metaphoric sense. Meaning, that the stars in the night sky are the passion and the drive the band has for music. It's kind of like this, you know how a lot of people tend to be afraid of the dark, because they don't know what dangers there could be? Well if there was something lighting up the night sky then you obviously wouldn't be afraid. We are like that light in the sky that keeps burning just so that you can be unafraid, of what? Anything you're afraid of, for example: Reaching your potential. Most people are afraid to reach their potential because they think that they will fail even if they try. Well don't settle for something you really don't want to be doing, or something you don't want to be. If you really want to do something with your life, it's up to you to make that happen. But hopefully we can inspire you to realize you have that power."

4.) Who's the author of your lyrics and who writes the music?
Well all the lyrics so far, have been written by Steven. The music is mostly a collaboration, it really just depends on the song. We are open to creativity in the band, any idea is welcome to make a song the best it can be.

5.) This year you've recorded your debut album. How did the recordings go?
Recording the debut album, was an experience. We did it all ourselves, meaning from recording to mastering.

6.) Were there any curious moments during the recording of the album?
Funny story, Sean Smith (Manager; Co-Producer of the album) died during the recording process. It's okay, he's alive now. He actually just had a medical problem, but in a way it was maybe from the stress of the album. (band laughs). We did have a lot of mishaps though. When you do it all yourself, there is bound to be mistakes. And usually they made us laugh. But the death is the top one.

7.) What were your feelings when you finished it?
Complete relief. Though we loved doing it, it was a very stressful time. Some of these songs have been recorded over and over for years, through demos and things like that. It felt really good to put these polished pieces out to the public, and get ready for the next chapter of the band.

8.) How would you describe your music style? Can your categorize it or it's a new word in music?
Our music is inspired by many genres. It is it's own style in a sense that we have so many different influences. We combine elements of rock, metal, and a bit of pop. We like to reach beyond the borders of music, and expand the already set standards.

9.) Are you planning a tour? Which countries are you gonna visit?
At this point, no tour is in the works. However when we do plan one, Russia is on the list. We'd love to say we've played everywhere. Our worldwide audience, is very important to us.

10.) Thank you for the interview. Could you say a few words to your future Russian fans, who will surely appear, 'cause your band is absolutely outraging and outstanding?))

Thanks for having us! To all of our Russian fans, we appreciate all of your support. Our new album is on iTunes, if you haven't be sure to pick it up. Just search Burning The Night Sky These Silent Nights. We plan to see you as soon as possible, but until then thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We wouldn't be where we are without you!
