D’ERLANGER have a long history, many albums and sold-out gigs under their belts. The lastest release from the band entitled «D’ERLANGER» was released in 2009. It presented the band at its best and revealed the versatility of their music talents.
The opening instrumental track "l l loss” sums up in short everything the listener will hear further in terms of sound and musical mood. Calm lyrical tunes are changing into more intense and heavy. Quite a complicated piece of music opens up gradually, becoming darker with every note. That’s the way which the whole album follows. Cheerful "Masquerade”, beautiful "Angelic Poetry” and calm "Your Funeral My Trial” make a light and open chapter of this musical book. The mood changes however at "Singe et Insecte” thanks to the clear tempo. Confidence and determination are the essential part of this song and they step by step are leading the listener to the calm bridge "Rose of Thanatos” which opens the dark chapter of the album. "LOVE/HATE” is the starting point of climbing up the mountain of darkness and power. This is the song with sudden rhythm changes and powerful intense vocals. The blow occurs at "EASY MAKE, EASY MARK” with a powerful intro, strong vocals changing to screaming and unrestrained energy. This is the darker side of D’ERLANGER which turns out thundering. All the previous nine tracks were the leading path to this one – the insane tenth track. Strength and power were gathering gradually only to burst out in flames of "EASY MAKE, EASY MARK” in the end. After this leap the album returns to its lighter note and finishes up with "Love me to Death” and another instrumental piece "LOVE me to Death [In the Air]”.
The openness and lightness of the album "D’Erlanger”, its optimism and light-heartedness charm and liven the listener up. And the musicians of D’ERLANGER have shown the versatility of their musical character by recording this fantastic CD.
