Scarlet Grey - Fancy Blood [EP] 2010
Band: Scarlet Grey Genre: Rock CD: "Fancy Blood” Release date: 2010 Bizarre Music Summary: Real talents are near. You just need to watch closely.
There are many unsigned bands in the world of music who remain a bit in the shadows for the big audience. Still there can be found true talents among them! Scarlet Grey belong to this world of such talented, unsigned bands. The rock act from LA plays interesting, diverse, catchy rock and wins the audience at their live shows with great energy and sense of community. Apart from that Scarlet Grey have the tour with AFI and the recorded all by themselves EP "Fancy Blood” featuring the duet with Davey Havok from aforementioned AFI under their belts. Impressive to start with, isn’t it? According to Scarlet Grey frontman Benjamin Grey "Fancy Blood” was recorded in a very short time, but still this release is much focused. It starts from the lively and catchy "No Boys In The Ballroom”. The energy of the song storms from the speakers and fills the whole space with its freedom. The mood is caught by the self-titled "Fancy Blood” which unveils slowly: first intriguing the listener with whispering vocals only to burst out into choir chorus some time later. "Mr. Sinister” and "Business Colors” continue in the similar fashion leading the listener to the minimalistic "Naomi” which has the air of the 80s and prepares the listener for the closing finale of the EP: the famous duet "The Sky & I” with AFI’s frontman Davey Havok. This track delivers a memorable end to the well-recorded EP. Scarlet Grey love what they do and the listener cannot but feel their love of music. They’ll win you with catchy melodic rock tunes, simple charm and velvet vocals of Benjamin Grey. You’d better watch out for them!
